We won! Because of you, your friends, family, and our community Stepping Hill is now officially a Specialist Hospital - meaning better services for local people (especially when it comes to emergency surgery).
In the end only 4 hospitals were chosen for Specialist status in Greater Manchester - Manchester Royal Infirmary, Salford Royal, Royal Oldham and Stepping Hill.
Over 2,000 people signed our petition in the end and I'm really happy that together we made our voice heard - it's important that we also thank the decision makers for taking full notice of what was a thorough consultation, including our petition.
Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign.
PS. Here's a link to the MEN story if you want to take a look.
Being a Liberal Democrat is different - you have the power to change things.
Unlike other parties, our members vote on our policies, elect our leaders and give their communities a voice.
