Volunteer roles

Get involved and make a difference

There are plenty of ways to get involved and help drive our campaigns, here's an overview of some of our the exciting roles available.

People with leaflets

Leaflet delivery

Each round takes around 30–45 minutes. We’ll aim to give you a round that’s convenient for you. Having enough deliverers across the constituency is key to getting our message out.

Lisa speaking to someone on the doorstep

Canvassing/door knocking

The most effective way to win votes is through conversation. You don’t need to know all the policies – just be ready to listen. A typical session lasts around two hours.

Person sat at a table stuffing envelopes

Envelope stuffing

Whether at the office or from home, we need people to prepare letters and leaflets for posting – writing addresses, stuffing envelopes, and so on. A flexible, easy way to help.

Jeff using the folding machine

Printing and folding

We produce many of our leaflets in-house. That means keeping the printer running and operating the folder afterwards. If you can spare a couple of hours at the office, this is a great help.

Will on the phone

Phone calling

We need people to do what someone has just done to reach you. You can call from the office or from home – we’ll provide a list of people to contact and what to say.

Leaflets in a box on the back seat of a car

Leaflet wholesaling

We also need people to deliver leaflets to our deliverers. You’ll need a car, and around once a month you’ll spend a few hours doing drop-offs – a vital but often overlooked job.

Hand typing on a laptop

Data entry

We often get paper responses to petitions and surveys. We need help entering this data into our systems so we can follow up with people effectively.

Ed Davey and Lisa Smart with volunteers

Event organiser

Love organising? Join the team running our regular volunteer events – or even lead one yourself. It’s a great way to bring people together.

Mark and Frankie putting up posters

Poster put-up team

At election time, we need volunteers to put up garden posters. It’s a short-term but crucial job that needs to be done well – and fast.

Lisa with a garden stakeboard

Poster co-ordinator

We need someone to take charge of posters in each ward – keeping track of how many we have, how many we need, and who’s putting them up.

Someone placing berries on a cake

Catering, baking and refreshments

For action days and socials, we need people to make food, bake cakes, or make simple refreshments. It’s a home-based role that makes a big difference to morale.

Person scrolling Lisa's social media

Social media support

We monitor local social media to keep people informed and spot problems we can help with. If you’re active online, this is something you can do from anywhere.

There are so many ways to get involved – whether you’ve got five minutes or five hours, there’s something for everyone. And if nothing here feels like the right fit, don’t worry – just complete the form below or click the button to email the team. We’d love to help you find the perfect role.
