Figures unearthed by Liberal Democrat Councillor Robin Lawrence shows Wolverhampton City Council spends £13,552,000 on waste collection and disposal, which is 14.9% of the Council Tax take.

Save our green belt
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Equality, Banking and Land
The Coalition for Economic Justice (CEJ) of which ALTER is a member, is planning a one-day conference for the Spring, in the run-up to the General Election, on the subject of Equality. CEJ is working with the Equality Trust to bring together an even broader group of campaigners (mainly those working on anti-poverty and banking reform), trying to work out how these campaigns link.
