Helen Morgan reacts to winter fuel payment U-turn
Helen Morgan MP is “relieved but disappointed it took so long” after the Government announced a U-turn on winter fuel payments.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. The Winter Fuel U-turn is better late than never – but it is clearly just a desperate and self-interested move to try and stop Labour losing support to opposition parties in the opinion polls and at the ballot box.
