The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.

Liberal Democrat MEP for the Western Counties, Graham Watson, visited Chippenham today. Graham was in the town to endorse the campaign of Liberal Democrat candidate Paul Fox. On a warm spring morning Paul, Graham and a number of supporters conducted some very successful canvassing in the Cepen Park South area of Chippenham.
Following questions from Colin Taylor, both Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and Surrey County Council have written to the Post Office authorities about their plans for the main Post Office in Epsom High Street.

Stephen Robinson says the Liberal Democrats will scrap Labour's political targets and allow greater freedom for NHS staff to put patients' interests first. He said, "This will allow doctors and nurses to use their clinical judgment to cut hidden waiting lists, deliver quality individual patient care, and improve infection control." The Lib Dems are also publishing "Now Wash Your Hands", a new survey of hospital infection control teams. Stephen said, "Every year the equivalent of seven and half district general sized hospitals are filled by people who pick up an infection during their stay."
