Save our green belt

The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? New motor cycle barriers installed on Lanesfield path

Residents in the Lanesfield area of Springvale Ward complained to their local Lib Dem Councillors about youths on motorcycles riding along the public right of way between Wood Street and Dresden Close. One Resident suggested that there should be barriers that would let pedestrians through be stop motor bikes. Cllr Richard Whitehouse contacted the Highways Department after getting support from the local police and a barrier was installed early in August.

Fuller Reports Eyesore in Guildhall Street

Folkestone Lib Dem Campaigner Gary Fuller has reported an alleyway in Guildhall Street, Folkestone, which is filled with rubbish and waste. The alleyway, which is not a public right of way, is filled with broken furniture and household waste.
