The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? A fire broke out on the balcony of a flat on the 10th floor of Varney Court in St Mark's Square, Bromley in the morning of Thursday 15th August. All residents were safely evacuated and the emergency services extinguished the fire by midday.
Commenting on reports that the Scottish Government is to but back on public sector advertising, economy spokesperson Willie Rennie said:

Bromley Council have agreed to spend an additional £4.8 million to finish construction at the York Rise development near Orpington Station after the contractors originally appointed have gone into administration.
