The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

Axe the Council Tax - an update

Following the success of our petition in Epsom High Street, our local campaigners took it to Stoneleigh Broadway last month. Again the response was magnificent. Even though not so busy as Epsom High Street, the vast majority of passers by were supportive and keen to sign.

Totnes Liberal Democrats off to the seaside this weekend

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven, will be leading the Totnes delegation to The Liberal Democrat Spring Conference at Southport this weekend. During a packed couple of days the conference will debate many issues including Medically Assisted Dying, Council Tax, Tuition Fees, Censorship and Early Years Education. The people's plea to end Council Tax delivered to Downing Street

Totnes Constituency Parliamentary Spokesperson joined Devon's Liberal Democrat M.Ps to hand in a petition to 'Scrap Council Tax' to Downing Street yesterday ( 16th. March). Over 1500 signatures collected throughout the Constituency over the last few months were added to thousands more from all over Devon.
