MP wins ambulance return promise
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has won an important victory after the North West Ambulance Service announced that they will allow some ambulances to return to the Westmorland General by the end of the month.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Commenting on Michael Gove's speech to the Conservative party conference, Liberal Democrat Shadow Schools Secretary, David Laws said:
I do have sympathy with some of the views expressed by Clive Strutt (EADT 6th Oct) the public really have to decide what they want. These days MP's earn less than the senior civil servants, which in a democratic process they should be able to bring to account. But they can't! It sometimes seems it is civil servants who have jobs for life, and Minister's who have to fall on their sword when the civil servants foul up!
