An ICM poll in the Guardian newspaper today has shown the Liberal Democrats surging in the polls and both Labour and Conservatives slipping back. The Lib Dems also seized Council seats from the Conservatives in local by-elections in Suffolk and Wales.
Former Shepway District Councillor John Spencer died on the night of Thursday 22 November. Mr Spencer served on Shepway Council from May 1995 to May 2003, as a representative for Hythe East Ward. He also served as Chair of the Development Control Committee.
