Thousands of people with physical and learning difficulties in Cornwall are to be charged for their meals and transport to and from day centres.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. At the County Council meeting today, Councillor Hazel Watson, Leader of the Liberal Democrats called for the Council to make its decisions in a more open, consultative and transparent way. In a debate the Conservative majority administration voted against the motion.
Rochdale Council has backed the Manchester Evening News' Campaign for a new registration scheme that would require all off-road bikes to be registered with the DVLA. The Council have a passed a Motion at their Full Council Meeting that also call for 'appropriate, clear signage on hotspots across the Rochdale Borough that would constitute as a warning and enable police to have tougher powers to confiscate straight away when catching offenders.

Following this morning's meeting with Minister, Anne McQuire, Chesterfield Liberal Democrat MP Paul Holmes welcomed the consultation period now being offered to all Remploy employees, following the publication yesterday of the Price Waterhouse Coopers review of the Remploy factories.
