The Liberal Democrats have passed a series of measures that together form a strategy for clean and sustainable energy at their Conference. The strategy is based on energy demand reduction, greater energy efficiency, the use of economic instruments, combined heat and power, micro-generation and community-based forms of generation and a mix of renewable energy sources that include biomass, wind, wave, tidal, and solar.

The UK suffers from an 'Elective Dictatorship' with a lack of proper checks on the power of Government, an unfair voting system and an increasing disengagement of the public from Parliament and political activity.
