Save our green belt

The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Summer Focus for Park Ward

Park Ward Focus Team has started to deliver their August Focus to 5000 homes in the Ward. The main stories are about traffic plans including a speed camera in Tettenhall Road, traffic calming in Paget Road and a ban on parking on grass verges which is a big problem round the West Park.

Lib Dem councils doing what's right for their local community and the planet rather than following central government diktat

Over the last three years it has been my privilege as Camden Eco Champion to have a remit to scour this land for best practice on the environmental agenda. Two things have struck me forcibly: the best practice out there is mostly being done by Lib Dem councils and none of the leaders on this agenda are doing what central government is telling them to do.
