Mental health fears 'kept secret'
More than 80% of people in Scotland know at least two friends who have experienced mental distress, research suggests.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

Springvale Focus Team have started to deliver a special edition of Focus for the re-election of Cllr Mike Heap.
Well, what a year it has been on the Council. This time last year the Liberal Democrats made a number of promises to YOU, the Council Tax Payer and we have kept each and every one of them. This includes keeping your Council Tax as low as possible - we have certainly achieved that with a rise just 4%, the lowest for a decade. We have also shown our faith in localised decision making and devolved as much power as possible to the Heywood, Middleton, Pennines and Rochdale Townships. These Townships now have more power than the old Town Councils that Labour abolished in 1974.
Rochdale Council are set to put power in the hands of schoolchildren, if Liberal Democrat proposals are carried through after the May Elections. Currently, any 2 Councillors can "call-in" any decision that the Council's Cabinet makes, this then has to be referred back to the relevant Council Committee for further scrutiny. If the Lib Dems retain power on the Borough's Council from May, 100 people including schoolchildren can come together to force the Council to think again about any decisions they have made that affects them.
The Liberal Democrats in the Rochdale Borough are making a final push to take over the Council in May. They have fielded a full slate of candidates and are target ting a number of areas including Balderstone and Kirkholt, Norden, Kingsway, Bamford, Middleton East and West and Heywood North and West.
Over the next few weeks, we're on a mission. And I'm delighted to say that we seem really to have got off to a flying start.
