Save our green belt
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? One in three expected not to co-operate on ID Cards
The government anticipate that one in three people will not cooperate with ID card checks, according to papers released under the Freedom of Information Act. The government were forced to reveal their working assumptions by the Information Tribunal after they resisted the initial request from the Liberal Democrats back in 2004. In a letter to Mark Oaten, who made the request, the government claimed the assumptions were now out of date.

Leading Liberal Democrats back trunk road improvements for Dundee
Cllr Allan Livingstone (Perth & Kinross Council) and Cllr Alison McInnes (Aberdeenshire Council) who head up the regional transport partnerships for the Tayside & Central (Tactran) and the North East of Scotland (Nestrans) have both backed plans to improve Dundee's trunk road network.

Disability info for Parliamentary Candidates Association
1. The starting point is an agreed definition of disability - this is what the Disability Discrimination Act uses "A person has a disability for the purposes of the DDA if s/he has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day to day activities."
