Lib Dem MP's bill to protect parkland
Solihull's Lib Dem MP, Lorely Burt will present a Bill before the House of Commons on Tuesday to protect parkland from being sold off by local councils and give local people more of a say in planning decisions.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. In view of the degree of public interest in Woodcote, Town and Stamford wards about Rosebery High School's proposed developments, Lib Dem councillors took the initiative in calling for a public meeting, which was held at the Town Hall on 24th June at 7.00 pm.
