The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.

A senior Newcastle Liberal Democrat is calling on Labour MPs to back an amendment forcing Gordon Brown to help the people worst hit by the abolition of the 10p income tax rate.
Zahid Shah and Cllr Robin Lawrence were furious to discover that the illegal fly tippers were now dumping their rubbish on the road. Robin said "CCTV cameras have already caught a number of fly tippers who have been taken to court. Sadly it's not enough as there are people with no conscience and care nothing for other people."
