Local MP Tim Farron is backing a national campaign that aims to highlight the plight of households who are concerned about being able to heat their homes to adequate levels this winter.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.

Local MP Tim Farron has pressed the Government to continue funding the Claren Project - a vital organisation in the fight against climate change locally.
The Government have announced the closure of an additional 2,500 Post Offices. Ed Davey, Liberal Democrat DTI Spokesperson said "This is the death knell for thousands of local shops and rural businesses that depend on their local post office. If tough decisions on Royal Mail had been taken, the freedoms and funds for saving post offices could have been found. Our postal services have a proud 300 year history which this Government has decimated in less than a decade."
