Lib Dems campaign for better bus services
Brentwood North's Liberal Democrat team has appealed to the operators of two local bus routes to make additional stops to help local residents, especially during the High Street works.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.
Find our more about the local plan on our frequently asked questions page.

Heather Kidd welcomed the respite from the awful summer weather as both Ludlow and Bridgnorth enjoyed bright sunny weather this week-end. Heather said "It is very difficult for tourist related businesses when we have so much rain but hopefully we can have some good weather for the rest of August to try and help them recover lost business. There is one bright spot for local businesses; the wet weather has helped the potato crop swell as well as a number of fruit crops. If we have some warm sunny weather now our potato farmers and fruit tree farmers could be in for a bumper autumn."
In a blatant act of revenge Lord Hanningfield (Leader of Essex County Council) and the Conservatives who run the county council have today (5 August) voted to remove the Liberal Democrats' one full-time support officer in a bid to gag the only opposition group. The Conservatives will continue to employ 13 full time staff to support their councillors. They will also continue to accept Special Responsibility Allowances totalling around £600,000 on top of their normal councillor allowances, all at the taxpayers' expense.
