Following up previous updates regarding local parks in the area, Cllr Caldwell has issued a brief update.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Cllr Caldwell and the Lib Dems have successfully pushed for the balance of spending to go more towards public infrastructure and services rather than tourism activities.
10,186 of those aged over 80 in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde are at risk of losing their Winter Fuel Payments due to the government’s cuts, the latest official statistics (released 24th September) have revealed.
The new Labour Government is failing older people across the country, with their cuts to the Winter Fuel Payments.
