The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

Tim Farron MP demands action to stop local

Tim Farron MP has called on the Learning and Skills Commission (LSC) to clarify its position in regards to funding for sixth-form colleges in South Lakeland and Eden, after it was suggested that those providing A-level courses in the area would have their funding cut.

Insecure site

Action on unsecured building site

Following door to door surveys by Jonathan Webber, Councillor Claire Darke and Councillor Robin Lawrence in the Vauxhall area residents have reported their concerns about an unsecured building site behind Lower Vauxhall. Visiting the area Councillor Robin Lawrence also noticed fly-tipped rubbish, broken and collapsed fences.Commenting, Jonathan Webber said "Park Ward Liberal Democrats take problems such as these very seriously and I shall be reporting these issues to Wolverhampton Council's Enforcement Division immediately."

Cut taxes for Chesterfield residents

Thousands of people in Chesterfield will be taken out of income tax altogether by new tax proposals launched by the Liberal Democrats. And thousands more will see their income tax bill slashed by £700 a year.
