The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

Candidate speaks out on Pensions

The Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats in Scarborough and Whitby spoke out on Wednesday about the unfairness in the British Pension system. Tania Exley-Moore was invited to speak at the Filey and Scarborough Older People's Forum, held at the Westborough Methodist Church.

Graffiti crackdown possible

Jacquie Bell, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Stockton South is calling for a crack down on graffiti. She is backing Lib Dem John Hemming, MP for Birmingham Yardley who is calling for action on spray painted slogans on walls and doorways.

Birmingham Liberal Democrats show their Pride!

Birmingham Liberal Democrats will be taking part in the city's Pride festival on 23/24th May. Local campaigners will be showing their support for the LGBT communities with a stall at the festival, listening to the concerns of LGBT residents and organisations. We will demonstrate both our record of local action and our proud record of ongoing action for LGBT people.
