The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. The inability of British local authorities to learn and adopt best practice is scandalous, leaving thousands of people killed or injured in accidents caused by high speeds that should have been designed out of residential roads years ago.
Totnes Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven, today spoke out against the large rises in allowances that Torbay councillors have awarded themselves. Speaking after Thursday's controversial vote when rises of up to 60% were passed he said:
