The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Commenting on John Prescotts incident Michael Headley said: "It was a disturbing incident to see in British Politics. I don't believe that it is acceptable for people to resort to physical means whether throwing eggs or lashing out. However, incidents like this just show how many people feel unconnected with government. We are seeing apathy turning into antipathy. People expected a lot from Labour but when they failed to deliver they lost faith with the whole process."
Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Michael Headley has slammed the Local Plan Inspectors report for proposing more housing to be built on our Green Belt. The Inspector wants 240 houses in North Brickhill (Freemans Common) and 200 between Norse Road and Renhold.
