£11 million overspent on one bridge
Barnet Liberal Democrats have expressed outrage at an £11 million overspend on the Aerodrome Road Bridge Project.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. On Bank Holiday Sunday, I spent a pleasant afternoon at Salisbury Racecourse. Live Horseracing is a fascinating experience. Apart from the obvious it is a great opportunity for people watching. Horseracing crowds are a varied cornucopia of rural England. Certainly a world way from the ethnic mix of North Finchley; I did notice though that the stable staff are much more diverse.

Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats have called an urgent meeting of the Council's Scrutiny Committee prior to the publication of a consultation document on restructuring the local schools system. The meeting will take place at Borough Hall on Wednesday 13th May and will provide an opportunity for a public examination of the issues around schools restructuring before the Council's consultation document is published later this month.
Joanna Lumley has today met with Prime Minister Gordon Brown on behalf of the Gurkha Justice Campaign to discuss Gurkha rights. Joanna Lumley said Mr Brown had taken the matter "into his own hands" and would come up with a "solution" to the issue of residency rights by the end of May.
