Football club to get freedom of the borough
Rochdale Football Club will be given the freedom of the borough at a ceremony later this year after the motion was put forward at a special meeting of Rochdale Council last night (Wednesday 24 July).
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. The European Council of the Regions hosted an international conference at their HQ in Brussels, on 24th June 2008. The subject was "Climate Change and the Challenges for Public Health".
