Save our green belt
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Former Romney Marsh resident Lisa Dobriskey, the current Commonwealth Games 1500m gold medallist, runs in the women's 1500m Olympic Final in Beijing, Saturday 23 August at 12.50pm (UK time).

Local Action for Westfield Residents
The Westfield Moor Lane Area Residents' Association took up Councillor Derek McCrum's suggestion for a petition concerning the proposed development of some 470 houses on Moor Lane. This resulted in 350+ signatures being collected in one week and being presented to Woking Borough Council.
