Dundee LibDems today (Sunday 20th July) welcomed the launch of the party's new "Make it Happen" document, a bold statement of the party's vision and values.
The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? DELGA Chair Jen Yockney has welcomed news that the US Senate has voted to remove the ban on people who have HIV entering the USA. This does not repeal the ban of itself but opens the door to the US Department of Health doing so. The policy dates back to the time of Ronald Reagan's presidency in the 1980's, when understanding about HIV transmission was far less advanced.
At a meeting on 22nd July, the borough council will be asked to look again at the findings of the 2007 Residents' Survey.
