The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

Party for children whose pre-school was gutted by fire

Chelmer Village children from the You & Me pre-school today attended a party won as a prize by one of their friends. Chelmsford Lib Dem candidate Stephen Robinson popped in to see them enjoying the party, provided by toy manufacturer Fisher Price.

Liberal Democrats call for better control of Surrey County Council's money.

Liberal Democrats at Surrey County Council have called for improvements in the way the County Council plans and prepares its budget. They criticised the Conservative administration for its unrealistic and short-term approach to budget setting, which has resulted in some council services underspending - whilst others overspend their budgets, year after year.

Town Council deep clean of Folkestone gets underway

Folkestone Town Council is taking action on cleaning up Folkestone Town Centre with a "deep clean" in time for summer. The Town Council has engaged with Ramora Ltd, a specialist industrial cleaning company with a proven track record in the removal of chewing gum and grime using steam clean techniques and no chemical agents.

Lib Dems put Charing Cross services on Shepway Agenda

The Liberal Democrats on Shepway District Council have put a motion to Shepway Full Council on 22nd July calling for Shepway to work with other to lobby southeastern trains to retain direct peak time services from Folkestone to Charing Cross following the introduction on new services to St Pancras in December.
