The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

RESULTS NEWSFLASH - LIB DEMS WIN WOKING

Woking Liberal Democrats gained 3 seats from the Conservatives to become the largest party on Woking Borough Council. Gains included Horsell West, Mount Hermon East and Knaphill. Disappointingly, Lib Dems were short of one more gain in Byfleet by just 2 votes! The Conservatives gained Maybury and Sheerwater from Labour. The new composition of the council is as follows:

Dundee LibDems support Campaign Against Climate Change meeting

Work Begins on St Margaret's

Liberal Democrat controlled Leicester City Council has given the green light to a £800 000 plan to improve the Central Bus Station for Leicester City Centre - St Margaret's. The scheme will see various improvements made, including -
