The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Bedford Borough Council is proposing to release vast areas of publicly-owned land across the borough for housing and commercial development. Following the news of controversial plans for housing developments on Mowsbury Park Golf Course and at Jackman's Farm, Brickhill, the Liberal Democrats have now revealed the full extent of the Council's proposals for new residential and commercial developments to appear at various sites across the Borough in both urban and rural areas.

Melted yellow lines

The Incredible Melting Double Yellow Lines!

Local Lib Dem campaigner Gary Fuller has expressed astonishment at Double Yellow lines in Christchurch Road which appear to have melted. The lines, which prevent parking next to Folkestone's Garden of Remembrance, appear to have melted where a part of the road dips. Gary was at a loss to explain how this has occurred.
