The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Help us send a message to Government and make Labour listen to local people.

Popular and energetic Lib Dem MP, Lembit Opik, flew in to visit North Bedfordshire Lib Dems on Friday 4 February. He was guest speaker at the Annual Dinner. He also joined Michael Headley and local Lib Dems campaigning on Friday afternoon.

Colin Ross chosen for Wolverhampton South West

Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats have selected Colin Ross as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. Colin lives in Wolverhampton City Centre and went to University of Wolverhampton. Colin currently works for Walsall Council and has previously worked for three Liberal Democrat MPs, the British Youth Council and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

Make sure you are registered to vote!

If the General Election is called for 5th May, which is what all the commentators expect, only people on the electoral roll by 11 March will be able to vote. That means there is just one month left to register.
