The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first. 

We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice.  Do you agree with us that the green spaces that make our area special need to be preserved, and new housing should first be built on brownfield sites, after the infrastructure is provided with schools, improved transport, and GP places guaranteed? Rochdale Tories in meltdown as Councillors defect

The Conservative Campaign in Rochdale is in tatters as 2 of their Councillors have quit the party and joined the Liberal Democrats. Cllrs. Wera and William Hobhouse have cited their concerns about the former TBA site as their primary reason for defecting.

East Midlands lags behind in recycling improvement league

Today, the Government has released recycling figures for each region in the country. Analysis by Parmjit Singh Gill, Member of Parliament for Leicester, South can now reveal that the East Midlands lags behind the national average improvement for recycling. While welcoming the overall increase recycling levels, Parmjit is now calling for reform on the way these figures are collected.
