The Government has doubled the housebuilding target for Stockport, weakened the protections on a third of our precious green belt, and is forcing the Council through Ministerial Directives and threats to adopt a Local Plan which will let developers target green belt first.
We oppose this government’s ‘developers charter’ and need your voice. On 23rd June the Home Renewable Energy Grant was put to the Sustainable Development Panel. This grant as worded would have restricted the Grant to only two technologies: Solar hot water and heat pumps. Both are commendable technologies but the cost of solar hot water had dropped by a third in recent years and hardly needs additional incentives.
