*UPDATE 2nd March 2020*
As you know the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's Transport Committee recently voted to cut the 375 bus service. We have been working hard to fight this decision.
We have heard this morning that the decision has been 'called in' and will be discussed again at a future meeting of the Greater Manchester Planning & Environment Overview & Scrutiny Committee.
This means we have another chance to push to overturn the decision! Please keep signing and sharing this petition to help us fight for the service.
On 21st February the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's Transport Committee took the decision to support axing the 375 bus route.
The 375 bus serves Hawk Green, Marple, Marple Bridge and Mellor and goes on to Stepping Hill Hospital and Stockport.
For many people, particularly in Mellor and Hawk Green this is their only public transport option and is an important lifeline. Cutting it will increase isolation, force them to use private transport, while increasing traffic and pollution.
We had strong backing for keeping the route from the Liberal Democrat representative on the Committee, who handed over our petition, spoke strongly in opposition to the proposal and voted against the plans. But the Labour majority on the committee carried the decision anyway, based on what we believe to be a flawed report.
This is not the end.
We will keep fighting for the 375 - this is a setback but there are still processes we can try and we need to send the strongest possible message.
Please sign and share to help us fight to retain the 375.
