Despite widespread opposition, the Conservative-backed Labour Cabinet running Stockport Council is pushing ahead with plans to move the library service from the historic Stockport Central Library building to the Merseyway Centre.

The Carnegie-endowed Library has been a vital part of our community for more than 100 years and is much loved by local residents. Your Lib Dem team want to make sure generations to come have the opportunity to use it.

We the undersigned are calling on Stockport Council to maintain the Library Service at Stockport Central Library.
