Lisa Smart and the Liberal Democrats finished a close second to the Conservatives in the race to be our new MP. The result was a close two horse race between Lisa and the Conservative.
Stockport Councillor Lisa Smart narrowly missed out on winning the Hazel Grove constituency in Theresa May’s snap General Election. Lisa’s Liberal Democrats increased their share of the vote more than any other party and cut the Conservative majority to just over 5,500.
A proven local campaigner and part of the Liberal Democrat team who represent you at the Town Hall, Lisa says, “Thank you so much to all the lovely people in our area. It’s always a pleasure to speak with you and work with you to make our area better. This really is a special place to call home.
An extra special thank you to those who voted for me this time. As always, we tried our best to win and we know my colleagues
and I will keep up the fight for you and for our local services”.
